By training, I am a neuroscientist. By passion, I am a video game creator. But by nature, I am just a story teller.
I began telling stories at a very young age. At first, I drew comics and even tried to self-publish them. After realizing my drawing sucks, I started to film. Unfortunately my dream of being a director didn't last long, as I soon started my training to be a scientist (aka a 'real' job in China). I still write novels or do some drama performance from time to time, but I didn't really treat them seriously.
Until I got into a Ph.D. program, when, almost like an epiphany, I realized that if I don't become a storyteller now, I might never do it in the future.
So this time, I chose to be a video game creator. No I don't make zombie shooters. I use video games to create interactive stories, where players don’t just watch a narrative unfold, they become part of it.
